TO ADD WHITE SPACE TO THE IMAGE
(Use this if there is no extra space around your image. Some artists crop their
grahics to the exact width of the graphic, leaving no extra space.) Skip this part if you have extra white space around your
graphic.
Note: To check the height and width of your image go up to IMAGE----IMAGE INFORMATION
- Make sure your background color is set to the color white in your color palette. This way, when you add the extra
space it will be white, just like the rest of your graphic's background.
- Go to IMAGE in the top menu and go down to CANVAS SIZE. Make the about 150 pixels
wider and higher than it is in your original graphic.
- Click to box next to CENTER IMAGE HORIZONTALLY and CENTER IMAGE VERTICALLY
Click OK. Your image should be in the middle of the work area with white all around it.
TO TAKE THE WHITE FROM AROUND THE IMAGE AND SAVE AS A TUBE OR OTHER TRANSPARENT FILE FORMAT (PNG)
1. Click on the MAGIC WAND in the Tool Palette (usually on the left side of your screen)
2. Go over to the TOOL OPTIONS and make sure it is set to RGB Value and that the two numbers are at 0 and
0.
3. Make sure the SAMPLE MERGED box is checked.
4. Go back to your graphic and left click (if you're using a right handed mouse) anywhere in the white around your graphic. You should see
what looks like little ants crawling around your screen AND around the graphic.
5. Go up to SELECTIONS and down to INVERT. Now you should only see the little ants around the graphic.
6. Go up to the top of your graphic on click on the blue bar (it's where there is information about your graphic). Right click on it and
choose COPY.
